Part Time Co-ordinator
We're hiring!
The FL HIV Justice Coalition is seeking a part-time co-coordinator with advocacy experience, drive and self-leadership skills to support in the administrative and community engagement efforts for the success of our reform movement. We are asking you to share this with your networks. While the requirements are what we are looking for, an orientation to overview the laws and expectations will be provided. What are we looking for?
- Candidates Considerations:
- Florida resident
- Have familiarity with state criminalization laws
- Be available for 20-24 hours a month for 12 months
- 1st Thursdays of each month from 11 am - 3 pm ET mandatory
- 1 hour a month for check-in w/ Coordinator mandatory
- Remaining hours flexible within coalition needs
- EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES SUPPORT
- Administrative:
- Updating guiding principles to better suit the coalition needs to function more cohesively
- Lead 1.5-hour monthly coalition calls w/ keeping notes, sending reminders, and setting agenda
- Membership engagement via social media and local org interests
- Community Engagement
- Identifying at least three priority engagement opportunities (outlined below) to present HIV Crim 101, law overview, etc.
- Identify at least three priority networking opportunities to further elevate the discussion and expand race, gender and serostatus representation in coalition
- COMPENSATION
- Monthly invoice would be submitted for $625
- Mileage reimbursement for any travel to in person engagement opportunities must be requested 2 weeks in advance and pre-approved
Overview of Community Engagement Opportunities from the FL HIV Justice Coalition:
- Crafting presentations for:
- Lawmaker education (i.e. HIV Health Bills, EHE, etc.)
- Planned and proposed outreach to:
- College (and potentially high school) students
- HBCU Virtual Road Tour (4 main schools, 5 high impact campuses)
- State attorneys and prosecutors
- Law students
- Medical students
- Identifying/support workgroup chairs
